What if they don't end up going?

If they haven't redeemed the code, you can email gifts@savunda.comand we'll refund the purchase in full to your original payment method, no questions asked, until the 2-year expiry. If they've already redeemed but haven't booked, the credit sits in their account — we can transfer it to a different recipient with both parties' consent, or convert it to one of your own future trips.

Can it be used partially?

Yes — partial redemption is the default. A $5,000 gift can cover most of a $4,200 short trip and leave $800 in the recipient's balance for a balloon morning or a Zanzibar extension later. The remaining balance carries forward against the original 2-year expiry.

Does it expire?

Two years from the purchase date. We send the recipient a 30-day reminder before expiry. If they reach out before expiry to say they want more time, we'll usually extend by 12 months — we'd rather they actually go than capture the breakage.

Can I buy in EUR / GBP / AUD?

Purchase is in USD. If the recipient lives in the EU/UK/AU, when they redeem we convert at the published Wise wholesale rate on the day of conversion — no FX skim. Many gifters in the EU specifically prefer this so the recipient sees full purchasing power.

Is there a fee? Hidden charges?

No. The amount you put in is the amount the recipient gets. The optional $25 letterpress card is the only add-on and is opt-in — printed in Boston on cotton stock and mailed to your address so you can hand-deliver it. Standard email-delivery gift is free.

Tax implications?

US: gifts under the annual exclusion ($18,000 per recipient per year as of 2026) are not reportable for federal gift tax. Most recipients have no tax obligation. Corporate gifts: deductible up to the IRS business-gift limit. Consult your accountant for specifics.

Can I gift it to multiple people (e.g., a couple)?

Yes. Add both names in the recipient field and we'll address the email and the letterpress card to both. The code attaches to whichever account redeems it first — partners can share access through their account settings.

What about honeymoon registry?

Yes — we run dedicated registries for couples. The couple sets a target amount, gets a personal registry URL, and guests contribute increments toward it. When they reach 60% of target the trip is booked. Email us to set one up.
